The fireplace is suitable to use with most gas and electric fires with a standard fire opening of 22.5" high by 16.5" wide. Surround comes with fixed rebate - (see dimensions).
Stone is natural product and can have some imperfection within its structure this may vary considerably (dark veins, fossils and crytals etc.) and these are of no detriment to the product. For this reason you should never expect your fireplace to be the same as the one you see.
